Emmy Pitschner (she/her), the writer/director of "But Wait, There’s More!", is a 23-year-old filmmaker with an Honours Bachelor's degree in Film and Television from Sheridan College. With a passion for telling stories that reflect the world around her, Emmy’s films explore topics of grief, sex, and bizarre human behaviour, often with an off-beat, comedic twist. Emmy’s films have been showcased at various established festivals, including the Yorkton Film Festival, the National Film Festival for Talented Youth, and the Forest City Film Festival. She has been recognized with various awards, including the Cogeco Best Multicam Production Award, Best Narrative Film and Best Overall Film at the Forest City Youth Film Festival, and Best Canadian Film at the Femme Fatale Film Festival. Ultimately, Emmy has a love for storytelling and believes that film is for everyone. With each project, her goal is to entertain the audience while also providing food for thought on taboo matters. Emmy believes that all the highs and lows that exist in life can exist in film, and she is excited to bring them to the screen.

“I grew up loving infomercials. Something about them kept me mesmerized and watching way past my bedtime. My love for them was then reignited in my adulthood when I stumbled upon the seedy underbelly of the infomercial world. Turns out, the people making me crave rotisserie chicken at 2am were misogynists involved in sex scandals, getting arrested and sued for violent behaviour, and overdosing on cocaine. I couldn’t believe it! But then again... I could. These pitchmen’s personas were always a bit strange. They were often aggressive, pushy, and borderline inappropriate, but the world loved it, and rewarded them with fame. The idea of a beloved, yet problematic persona, that in fact wasn’t a persona at all, gripped me and inspired “But Wait, There’s More!” This film focuses on what it means to “cross the line” and face repercussions in an industry that tries to avoid consequences at all costs. As a young woman entering the film industry, I’m hyper aware of how often victims are silenced and things are swept under the rug. Though there has been extraordinary progress in making the entertainment industry for all, there is still plenty of work to be done and stories to be told. I’m passionate about using my voice to showcase the immorality behind valuing profits over human beings, and love utilizing the dark comedy genre to highlight the absurdity of that behaviour.”
