When chin hairs sprout and deep lines appear, thirty-something Danni is thrust into a battle over how a Black woman is “supposed” to age — and who decides what “aging gracefully” really means.
Nominee for Best Animated Short Film
Bianca Lambert is a filmmaker, journalist, Webby award-winning creative producer, and proud Atlanta native. Her first film, an award-winning animated short titled "Super High: A Period Piece," sheds light on the experience of Black women living with fibroids. Since its debut on the festival circuit this past August 2024, the film has played on the festival circuit at Oscar-qualifying film festivals: the Chicago International Film Festival, the New Orleans Film Festival, and Slamdance, and has received six awards and ten nominations, even taking home an Honorable Mention at Slamdance in the Unstoppable Short Grand Jury category.
