India Anne Mitchell is a filmmaker who captures the light in the world’s most shadowed corners. Her journey began with an old cellphone during the quiet of the 2020 shutdown, documenting a world in flux from her home in Petaluma, California. What started as a middle-school curiosity ignited a love for documentary filmmaking. By age 15, India’s work had already garnered over 80 top honors and 100 other recognitions, and crossed more than 500 film festival screens worldwide.
